Researchers from the scCANCER consortium develop a fast and accurate method to detect Breast Cancer Cells based on their metabolic activity

A collaboration from the scCANCER-CM consortium has developed a rapid and precise method to detect breast cancer cells by analyzing their metabolic activity. This technique enhances digital holographic microscopy by minimizing noise, allowing high-resolution visualization of ATP-driven metabolic regions in cancer cells. As malignancy increases, these active regions expand, supporting the cells’ energy needs. Using patented algorithms, this method identifies cancer cell malignancy and metastasis potential accurately within minutes.
